A NOTE FROM AVERIE….

I fell in love with wedding photography when I shot my close friend’s wedding at the beginning of my photography career. I was a little nervous as I understood the responsibility I had in capturing these precious moments for my friend and her family and I didn’t want to let her down. When she first asked me to be her official wedding photographer I turned down her offer, preferring to accept her invitation as a guest. A couple of months later she reached out again, this time pleading with me, that she couldn’t imagine anyone else by her side for her whole wedding day. She wanted someone she felt comfortable with, a close friend who she trusted. After a lot of thought I finally said yes and so my journey into the world of wedding photography began.

I’ll always remember this conversation with my friend, and I’ll never forget how it felt to be at her wedding documenting all those precious moments for her. I wasn’t shooting with a formula in mind, I shot with my heart and took photos based on the emotions I felt throughout the day. Not only was I being creative but I was so happy and I was having fun at the same time.

After this I was hooked and I just wanted to be at weddings every weekend documenting these beautiful & joyous milestones. And I did just that.

Just like that first wedding I still shoot with emotion navigating my creative process. You’ll often see me tearing up during the speeches or the parent dances. I put my heart and soul into documenting your wedding so when you look back at your photos you don’t just see beautiful moments you FEEL them.
